Understanding Technology-Facilitated Sexual Violence (TFSV) - The Sunday Times 8 March 2020

Technology-Facilitated Sexual Violence (TFSV) is an understudied but prevalent phenomenon with initial research investigations demonstrating significant adverse consequences.

Victims of TFSV tended to have lower levels of self-esteem and perceived control, higher levels of shame and higher levels of anxiety and depressive symptoms compared to those without TFSV experience. There also appears to be a higher incidence of substance and alcohol use.

Understanding TFSV is crucial in our ability to provide better service delivery.
